Chinook salmon


The Chinook (King) Salmon is identifiable by the dark spots present on its back and tail, as well as the black gums on its upper and lower jaw. On average, King Salmon weighs between 4.5 and 15 kg. This type of salmon feeds on a diet of herring, sand lance, capeling, and squid.

The majority of King Salmon are typically caught during the period from May to September.
